Hot Honey Shrimp Stir Fry

Hot. Honey. Baby!

If there are a few things that I love... it's seafood, spicy things and the taste of honey and when you combine all of those things together... babyyyyyyy you got some ✨Magic✨ - Hey Alexa play Ariana Grande "Just like Magic"

I decided to take a spin on the classic Shrimp stir fry that you might find in your local asian restaurant and make it sweet & spicy baby!

For this recipe you only need 4 ingredients and 3 spices and about 30 minutes to make it! So this is the perfect if you are in a quick pinch and want something delicious & homemade but feels really fancy!

Ingredients

- 1 lb of shrimp (cleaned and deveined - i like these jumbo shrimp)

- 1/4 cup of honey (you can even use this hot honey)

- 3 tbsp of Hot sauce (your choice of brand - i personally like Frank's red Hot)

- 2 Packets of frozen mixed veggies

- garlic powder

- onion powder

- salt & pepper to taste

  1. If you have no already cleaned and deveined your shrimp, please be sure to do so. I clean my shrimp with lime, vinegar and water. (If you by already cleaned and deveined shrimp then all you need to do is make sure your shrimp is all cleaned!)

  2. Season your cleaned shrimp lightly with garlic powder, onion powder, sea salt and pepper.

  3. In a medium sauce pan, lightly coat the pan with some avocado oil spray (you can even use some olive oil, coconut oil or oil of your fancy). Turn to a medium heat.

  4. Place shrimp in pan to begin cooking, making sure to watch them to see if they turn opaque. Once they turn opaque, flip them over and cook the other side (about 3-4 mins per side). Pour your honey of choice on top of the shrimp and add hot sauce (if you are not already using the hot honey -- or if you are add some extra heat if you like it spicyyy) Lower heat and allow to simmer uncovered.

  5. While shrimp is cooking - cook your frozen veggies according to the package instructions (i like to go on the lower time for mine so that when i add them to the pan it isn't over cooked).

  6. Take your cooked mixed veggies and drain any excess water that might be in the bag and pour veggies on top of the shrimp. Make sure to thoroughly mix the shrimp and veggies together to have everything incorporated

  7. Serve hot with your side of choice (pairs well with steamed jasmine or basmati rice or for a lower carb option use cauliflower rice).
