Hey guys welcome back to the house! If you‘re new here I’m Melissa & I like to eat! 😝 I am currently on my get the pre-baby body back plan & I am counting macros & calories to achieve my weight loss goals!!
😅😬ehhhh...
If you don’t know what macros are let me break it down for you... the term “macro” is short for macronutrient. Now you’re probably now asking, Melissa.. what in the world is a macronutrient? Macronutrients are split into three main categories & these provide you with majority of your energy. Those catergories are: Proteins, Carbohydrates & Fats. so basically when you say that you are counting your macros you are counting those three main categories in preferably grams that you are eating!
Now that you know the basis of macros, you‘re probably wondering why anyone would count these? Well in counting macros you can learn to make smarter healthy food choices. It’s fairly similar to counting calories but this takes it a step farther by factoring key 🔑 elements in cho healthy eating & and it’s unrestricted than those compared to other diets.
So now that I’ve given you the scientifically accurate (joking) explanation of macros.. let’s get into the recipe!
Ingredients
For egg rolls
3.5 oz Jeannie-o Turkey chorizo
4.2 oz liquid egg whites (or from egg 🥚)
5 egg roll wrappers (I like Freida brand)
28 g mexican style shredded cheese
For avocado 🥑 salsa dip
50g or half of a hass avocado
2 oz nonfat plain Greek yogurt
2 tbsp of your favorite medium salsa (I like this one)
salt and pepper to taste
In a small skillet begin to brown your chorizo — when the chorizo is cooked through add your egg whites to the pan, making sure to stir thoroughly to combine it together.
While that is coming Together lay out your 5 wrapper - sprinkle a little cheese in the middle of each one and evenly distribute the chorizo egg filling in the middle of each of the wrapped. Tuck in the sides and roll wrapper up making sure to seal the edges using water. Place each egg roll in the air fryer on the French fry setting for 7 minutes. Mid way flip your egg roll and lightly spray with olive or avocado oil.
While the egg rolls are cooking combine all your ingredients for your avocado salsa in a small bowl and mix and set aside to serve with your egg rolls .
Remove egg rolls from air fryer and serve immediately with avocado salsa dip. Makes 2 servings (2 1/2 egg rolls per serving)
